Guys & Dolls Auditions and Registrations will take place on Thursday 12 June at 7.15pm in the Kelly Hall, Portrush.
Auditions are open to all those of school leaving age and above. (Those currently in Year 12, 5th Year, or 16 years +)

A Message from our Artistic Director:
‘Guys & Dolls’, the musical, is seventy-five years old. The show itself is set in the 1930s which makes it practically an historic document.
I have decided to completely modernise and rejuvenate the show and bring it up to date – to 2026. Not a red uniform, nor a Havana, nor a sewer in sight!
Importantly, the show’s dialogue and songs carry through the decades, with little or no need for change.
So, for those auditioning – a few notes:
ADELAIDE: none of that squeaky voice nonsense. She may look like a blonde bimbo, but she certainly isn’t. Try different voices for her.
The ‘Bronx’ accents of the gamblers and Nathan’s friends are dated and not to be used.
In fact, all the accents should be present day American – nothing fancy – keep it like all the films and TV you watch.
Be inventive and ‘now’ – I look forward to seeing and hearing your creativity!

SARAH BROWN
A pretty, bright-eyed woman who serves as Sergeant of the local Mission (Salvation Army). She fully believes in her worthy cause and wishes to convert the gambling sinners to saints. Falls unexpectedly in love with Sky along the way. She is prudish and uptight, but eventually lets go.

HARRY THE HORSE
A crook and gambler. Not a friend at all of Nathan. He is a tough guys with dollar signs as his bottom line. Brings Big Jule into Nathan’s craps games and backs his cheating, but is also a man of his word in the gambling community.

GENERAL MATILDA B. CARTWRIGHT
The stern and dedicated leader of the New York Salvation Army. The Save a Soul Mission comes under her remit. She is a strong and commanding presence, often clashing with the more frivolous characters, particularly the gamblers.

In our show he is an on-stage character. Owner of the Biltmore Garage, a crucial location for the gambling plot. A no-nonsense, hard-headed and mistrusting businessman who gives Nathan a hard time.

ARVIDE ABERNATHY
The bass drum and cymbal player in the Mission band, he is Sarah’s loving grandfather. Wise and sweet, he wants nothing but the best for her.

HOT BOX DANCERS
They are strong singers and dancers, often seen backing up Miss Adelaide. The Hot Box dancers represent a specific style of entertainment, with suggestive moves and scantily clad costumes. They are a key part of the club’s atmosphere and contribute to the show’s overall energy.
