Anna’s journey to save her sister and her kingdom is entirely selfless, driven by her understanding of the power of love.  Her infectious spirit has made her an emblem of courage and hope, resonating with those who have ever felt like they don’t quite belong.

We are looking for an actress with a strong voice, great comic timing and easy chemistry with other actors.

This ice harvester’s rough exterior hides a heart of gold.  He is sarcastic, cynical, but charming,  He proves to be an exceptional companion to Anna, offering steadfast support, unwavering loyalty and remarkable selflessness. He isn’t afraid to provide honest feedback, even if it means pointing out when Anna is wrong or being impulsive.

His transformation throughout the story is often underrated but quite remarkable.  Initially, he starts as your typical, practical guy aiming to avoid trouble and make a comfortable living.  However, as the story progresses, he undergoes personal growth and becomes more in touch with his emotions.

We are looking for an actor who can convey a sense of laid-back carelessness, witty banter and a strong sense of love.

This role also speaks for the role of Sven, so the actor must be comfortable voicing two characters.

Hans is Prince of the Southern Isles and youngest of thirteen brothers – charming and ambitious on the outside, cruel and conniving on the inside. He knows that the path to becoming a king lies in marriage and murder.

His character serves as a cautionary tale about the dangers of judging solely based on appearances and the importance of not losing oneself in the pursuit of personal gain.  He is willing to let Anna freeze to death and attempts to murder Elsa in cold blood, all in pursuit of his own ambitions.

We are looking for an actor who can confidently and believably fool the audience into his wicked façade.

Though silent, Sven’s wholesome nature and loyalty to his friends speaks volumes.  As Kristoff’s lovable reindeer companion, Sven represents the unbreakable connection between humans and animals.

Having grown up with Kristoff, Sven shares a bond that goes beyond words.  He is a rock of support for Kristoff during challenging times, and surprisingly, as a reindeer, he possesses excellent communication skills!  With facial expressions that convey genuine emotion and good advice – Sven is a true master of non-verbal communication.

We are looking for a physical actor who is comfortable working inside a large puppet.

A talking snowman, created by young Anna and Elsa. Some people are worth melting for and Olaf is one of them.  If he’s not melting or dreaming of the sun, he’s smiling at his friends and sharing their pain.  With his childlike wonder and heartwarming humour, Olaf is such a nice guy that he’ll bring tears to the audience’s eyes.  His innocent joy and positivity provide all the needed relief in more intense moments, and no matter how big the stakes are, when Olaf is around, you always feel everything will be ok.

Beyond his comedic antics, Olaf imparts wisdom about cherishing the present, finding joy in the simplest things, and the beauty of embracing change – as he truly understands, “an act of true love will thaw a frozen heart”

We are looking for a performer who is comfortable working with puppets, with strong comedic timing and an excellent voice.

The Duke of Weselton is a pompous, arrogant, and scheming dignitary from Frozen who seeks to exploit Arendelle’s riches. Short in stature, he is a cowardly, short-tempered, and clumsy dancer who fears magic, branding Elsa a “monster” to justify a coup. He is ultimately defeated and sent back home.

Duke of Weselton (commonly mispronounced as “Weasel Town”) is the secondary antagonist of Frozen. He is a supercilious and avaricious dignitary with a fear of magic. The Duke visits Arendelle in honour of Queen Elsa’s coronation, with plans to exploit the kingdom’s riches. When Elsa is revealed to have magical powers, however, the Duke deems her a monster and becomes determined to have her killed.

This role requires strong comedic timing, and a narrow-minded outlook on life.

ACCENT:  Standard English/BBC

Oaken runs Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post and Sauna. But since Elsa’s massive winter storm hits in mid-July, he finds himself with a surplus of summer supplies. Deal-seekers beware: though he’s good-natured and helpful, if you cross him, Oaken won’t hesitate to throw you out of his humble establishment.

Oaken in Frozen: The Musical is an ebullient, eccentric, and jolly shopkeeper who runs “Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post and Sauna”. Known for his love of all things “hygge” (cozy), he provides comic relief, musical numbers, and essential winter supplies to Anna. He is friendly but firm.

  • Personality: Enthusiastic, cheerful, and welcoming, but acts as a “shrewd proprietor” who runs a tight business.
  • Role: Comedic, warm-hearted, and serves as a, perhaps surprisingly, physically strong character.
  • Musical Number: He performs the song “Hygge,” focusing on staying comfortable and happy despite the cold.
  • Appearance/Performance: Requires a performer with strong comedic timing, high energy, and the ability to convey eccentric charm.

Role in the Plot:

  • Trading Post Owner: Supplies Anna with new winter attire.
  • “Hygge” Advocate: Introduces the concept of comfort, sharing his method for keeping spirits high during the relentless, magical winter.

OAKEN’S ACCENT: Oaken from Frozen speaks with a stylized, exaggerated Scandinavian accent often described as a mix of Norwegian, Swedish, and Finnish, sometimes referred to as “Swenglish”. It is designed to sound like a friendly, stereotypical northern European accent, with a sing-song cadence.

ACCENT:  Danish

Mystical shaman and patriarch of the Hidden Folk ands Kristoff’s wise adoptive father.  These open and warm-hearted figures want what’s best for Kristoff, even if they are a bit misguided in their efforts.

Here is a detailed description of Pabbie in the stage adaptation:

  • Role and Characterization: Pabbie is the patriarch or “King” of the Hidden Folk and acts as a father figure to Kristoff, who was taken in by them as a child. He is depicted as deeply wise, benevolent, and protective, possessing a soft spot for “strays”.
  • Magical Abilities: He is a shamanistic figure with the power to heal, specifically focusing on curing ailments caused by magic. He is instrumental in healing young Anna after she is struck by Elsa’s powers, although he notes that a “frozen heart” is beyond his power to fix.

  • Musical Number: Pabbie is a featured performer in the Act 1 showstopper song “Fixer Upper”.
  • Physical Appearance in the Musical: Unlike the animated film where he is a small, moss-covered rock creature, the musical often portrays the Hidden Folk as more mystical, often wearing green, earthy, or moss-like clothing with shimmering crystals.

King of Arendelle; warm-hearted and protective father to Anna and Elsa.  He is committed to protecting both his family and his townspeople from his eldest daughter’s powers.

King Agnarr in the Frozen musical is portrayed as the warm-hearted, loving, and well-meaning ruler of Arendelle. He is deeply devoted to his family, yet his character is defined by a fear of magic that leads him to take drastic, often isolating measures to protect his daughters and kingdom from Elsa’s uncontrollable powers.

Key Aspects of Character in the Musical:

  • Role & Personality: He is a formal and protective father who often appears stern or stubborn in his attempts to control the danger he perceives in Elsa’s magic.
  • Conflict: He struggles to balance his love for his children with his fear, ultimately creating a strained, distant relationship with Elsa, while fostering a more open but still protective relationship with Anna.
  • Key Moments: He is pivotal in the early, tragic parts of the show, specifically during the “Do You Wanna Build a Snowman” sequence where he and Queen Iduna succumb to a storm at sea.
